Citrus canker is a disease affecting most Citrus species caused by the bacterium Xanthomonas axonopodis. Infection causes lesion on the leaves, stem and fruits of Lime, Orange and Grape fruit. Canker significantly affects the vitality of citrus trees causing premature drop of leaves and fruits.
It is identified by Brown raised lesions
surrounded by an oily, water soaked margin and yellow ring on leaves and
fruits.
MANAGEMENTS OF CITRUS CANKER:-
a) The use of disease free stocks is the
best method to control of disease.
b) Water your plant at base. Don’t give water on
leaves.
c) If it not possible, then water it in the morning
because leaves will have enough time to dry out.
d) Don’t use high nitrogen fertilizer.
e) Avoid fertilizing plants when your plant infection occurs.
f) Immediately trim affected part and dispose it carefully.
g) Spraying 0.1% Bordeaux mixture
should be done immediately after appearance of every new flush of leaves.
h) If infection spread than you need to purchase any copper or zinc based bactericides from on line shop and use it as per recommendation written on level.
